Overall Infrastructure Health

64 /100

Syntides is operating a substantial WooCommerce catalog with more than
1,300 products in the Peptides category alone and a much broader
chemical and research-material taxonomy behind it.

The concern is that the storefront is being delivered through an aging
frontend architecture that is struggling on mobile. Lighthouse scored
the site at 59 for mobile performance, with a 9.3 second Largest
Contentful Paint and a 0.19 layout shift score. The current catalog is
functional, but the technical presentation is not keeping pace with
the size or complexity of the business.

Top 3 Opportunities

1

Fix the 9.3 Second Mobile LCP

Mobile performance is being heavily affected by the site’s header
image. The SYNTIDES header graphic is a roughly 1.07 MB PNG at
1800×400 pixels even though it is displayed at approximately
721×160 pixels.

Lighthouse estimates more than 1 MB of savings from that image
alone. Rebuilding it as a properly sized WebP or AVIF asset,
providing explicit dimensions and prioritizing its delivery would
directly address both LCP and layout stability.

2

Modernize the Frontend Asset Stack

The initial render is currently blocked by a long chain of theme,
WooCommerce, Ninja Forms, Font Awesome, Google Fonts and legacy
JavaScript dependencies.

Lighthouse estimates roughly 2.8 seconds of potential render-
blocking savings. The site is also loading five separate Google
Font families plus older theme scripts and jQuery dependencies.
Consolidating and conditionally loading these assets would make
the catalog substantially leaner.

3

Rework Catalog Navigation & Product Discovery

The business has an unusually deep catalog, but the current
browsing experience exposes a very long nested category tree in
the sidebar while products are displayed in small, dense cards.

A modern product archive with searchable filters, cleaner
taxonomy controls and larger product cards would make the catalog
significantly easier to browse without changing the underlying
WooCommerce product data.

Things We Like

  • Large and well-established WooCommerce product catalog

  • Product taxonomy is already extensively organized

  • Product pages include technical details such as purity, CAS number and molecular formula

  • HTTPS is active and the site avoids obvious browser errors

  • 91 Accessibility and 92 SEO scores provide a good starting foundation

Potential Business Impact

  • Faster first impression for mobile buyers

  • Easier discovery across thousands of catalog items

  • Cleaner and more credible product presentation

  • Reduced dependence on legacy theme assets

  • Better foundation for continued catalog expansion

Needs Improvement

The low score is driven primarily by LCP and layout instability
rather than heavy interaction blocking. Total Blocking Time is only
20ms, which means there is a clear optimization path without
rebuilding every part of the site.

Best Initial Fit

WooCommerce Performance + Catalog Modernization

Syntides does not need its catalog rebuilt from scratch. The product
data, categories and WooCommerce structure already contain
substantial business value. The best initial engagement would be to
modernize the frontend around that existing data: performance
optimization, archive filtering, improved product cards and a
cleaner PDP template.

User Experience

  • !
Archive pages expose an extremely long category sidebar

  • !
Product pages have substantial unused whitespace

  • Technical product information is already available

  • Existing catalog data can support a much stronger modern interface

Recommended Next Step

Schedule a complimentary 30-minute Infrastructure Review.

I’ll walk through:

  • The 9.3 second mobile Largest Contentful Paint
  • The oversized 1 MB+ header image
  • The render-blocking theme and plugin asset chain
  • How the existing WooCommerce catalog could be modernized
  • Archive filtering and product-detail improvements

No obligation.

If I Could Only Fix One Thing…

I’d start here:

Replace and properly prioritize the oversized site header image.

Reason:
A single 1.07 MB PNG is being used for one of the most important
above-the-fold elements on the site. Lighthouse estimates that more
than 1 MB can be removed from this asset alone. It is also missing
explicit dimensions and contributes to layout movement. This is a
highly visible, low-risk optimization that can improve both mobile
LCP and CLS immediately.
